I actually designed and knit this shawl up a couple of years ago when I stocked a lovely mohair, Broadway, that had little metallic beads in it. The shawl is knit side to side, as is obvious in this self striping yarn. It is knit in garter stitch, has a shawl collar when worn, and shaped ties in front, one of which has a place to lace the other tie thru so the shawl stays on your shoulders easily. This is really simple, took only 4 sks of about 175 yds each, knits up quickly and is easy to wear. So although I had made it for a holiday event a couple of years ago, when I came across it the other day I thought I’d knit a new one in a lighter weight mohair and it would be perfect to wear to a spring wedding …when you just need a little something to throw on over your dress after the sun goes down!
