This pattern (created in collaboration with Teri Neil of Elusive Designs, LLC and Tempe Yarn & Fiber in Tempe, AZ) gives options allowing the knitter to design a unique stocking using a variety of patterns to work into the different parts of the stocking and instructions for using several choices for type of needle.

Charts are included for letters, numbers and holiday-themed designs. Instructions are provided for creating the stocking with or without extensive Fair Isle patterning.

The gauge for the stocking varies somewhat depending on how much Fair Isle patterning is included. Gauge for solid color is 7 stitches and 9.5 rows per inch and for stranded knitting is 8 stitches and 8 rows per inch.

The final stocking also varies in size depending on use of patterning, ranging from: circumference of 16-17 inches, length of leg 13-14.5 inches and foot 11-12 inches.
