HOLLICARRS
Beads are placed in a diamond pattern amongst the open trellis stitch of this stunning scarf to add a layer of detail and weight. Crochet it without embellishment for a lighter, pared-down version.
YARN
Daughter of a Shepherd Hebridean & Zwartbles DK (DK / light worsted weight; 75% Hebridean wool, 25% Zwartbles wool; 233m / 255yds per 100g skein) x 3 skeins
TOOLS
• 4mm (US G/6 / UK 8) crochet hook
• 4 packs of Debbie Abrahams size 6 beads in shade 605 Slick (approximately 500 beads per pack)
• Sewing needle and thread for threading beads
• Tapestry needle
TENSION
One pattern repeat = 29cm / 11½” wide x 7.5cm / 3” deep with 4mm hook after blocking.
Take time to check your tension and adjust the hook size accordingly to ensure an accurate finish.
PATTERN NOTES
• The crochet lace pattern of Hollicarrs is overlaid with a beaded trellis placed as you work.
• Beads should be threaded onto the yarn before starting or joining a new skein – the pattern will tell you how many beads to thread.
• The repeat in the Chart and Written Instructions differ but produce exactly the same pattern.
