Holly and Pine Cone
Holly was a pagan symbol of immortality and in ancient times it was hung in houses to bring the occupants good luck and lasting life. In Denmark the holly is known as “Christ-thorn” as in the Christian faith the sharp pointed leaves symbolise the crown of thorns Christ wore at his crucifixion and the red berries represent the drops of blood on
his head.
This pattern is worked in the round and I use abbreviations according to US crochet language. I can provide the pattern in UK crochet language if preferred, please just contact me.
