Holly Christmas Tree Coasters
Holly plants and Christmas trees are holiday classics. Crocheting a few holly leaves, with their small berries, as festive coasters will bring holiday cheer to your table. When placing them straight up, the set looks like an illuminated Christmas tree.
This crochet pattern is a fun project for beginners to get comfortable with altering stitches in one round and to have a taste of using bobble stitches in a crochet project. This pattern includes the steps to create four coasters and two types of “tree trunk” basket to store them: one is made in a simpler way, and the other is made with special stitches (explained in the pattern) to provide more texture. If you are up for a challenge, give the second type a try.
