The inspiration for this hooded scarf came from time-travel TV shows and novels set in Scotland and England. Scotland has captured my heart, and with my love for history and horses, I envision our heroine galloping across the moors on a snowy afternoon, bundled up against the elements in this cozy wool hooded scarf. It keeps her warm in the cold weather and hides her identity as she traverses less friendly territory.

The scarf is worked first, then stitches are picked up for the hood and worked to the crown, where the two halves are joined using 3-needle BO.

The hood is intended to be voluminous to completely protect your head and face from foul weather. If you prefer a shorter hood, consider working the Diamond Pattern in the Main Section twice rather than 3 times; this will reduce the height by approximately 3.25”.
