Home On The Road (Converted Bus)
Welcome to my “Home On The Road” throw pattern series!
The perfect blanket for your Motorhome, Camper van, RV…take your pick.
This pattern was created as a request because there was nothing like this out there, I do hope you like it. There are currently six versions, but there are more in the making.
Included in the files you’ll find ticked charts and written instructions for both left and right hand drive vehicles, which is clearly indicated in the file names. (Left hand drive = driver sitting on the left side of the vehicle)
This is an “overlay mosaic” or “Single-row mosaic” pattern using US terminology.
There isn’t a tutorial included with this pattern, there are amazing tutorials available online, such as the “Beginners Guide to mosaic crochet” video series by Tinna.
The only two stitches you need to know are single crochet and double crochet stitches and of course you need to be able to make a foundation chain or a chainless foundation row.
Don’t be intimidated, you’ll be amazed how easy this technique is! I know I was!!!
Gauge/size/hook/yarn
(the following are for reference only, depending on your tension, yarn and hook you’re using the size and yarn requirement may vary)
With DK / Light worsted yarn and 4 mm hook
Gauge: 16 stitches x 16 rows = 10x10cm (it isn’t important to match this, approximate yardage and size was calculated using this gauge)
Width: 110cm (120cm with border)
Height: 150cm (160cm with border)
Yarn requirement: Main Colour: 1700m
Pattern Colour: 1300m
Double border: 800m
There’s an optional frame pattern included, should you wish to make your blanket bigger. The above measurements do not include this frame.
You can use any type of yarn, make sure to use the most suitable size hook for your chosen yarn and tension.
Please feel free to get in touch should you have any questions.
Thank you for your interest and happy hooking!
