Home Sweet Home Shawl
During this time of “Stay at Home” orders to lessen the spread of the COVID-19 virus, I am choosing to think of it as a “Safe at Home” and focusing on being grateful for the love and safety within our four walls. Now you can loom knit this wonderfully warm and cuddly shawl to wrap yourself in a hug. Or you can knit one to give to someone else who might need a hug.
The Home Sweet Home Shawl is knit as a flat panel, tip to tip, on a ¾” gauge loom with a minimum of 52 pegs. My Indian Cross Stitch pattern is used to create beautiful embellishments. With this pattern, you will increase the shawl to the mid-point or until you have used half of your yarn. Then you will decrease to the end. The beauty of this pattern is that you can use it on any gauge loom with the appropriate weight yarn. Keep in mind, if you make it on a smaller gauge loom, you will definitely need more yardage in yarn than is called for in this pattern.
The shawl uses approximately 275 yards of a super bulky #6 or bulky #5 weight yarn. Premier Yarns Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Active yarn #6 in the Taupe colorway was used in the sample.
Finished Size: 70” from tip to tip x 20” at its widest point.
This pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter and comes with lots of picture tutorials in the written pattern, as well as links to my videos for additional help.
