Honesty
They say honesty is the best policy, being honest with yourself is something I often need reminding of. Stay honest to who you are, what you believe, and what you really want out of your life. The design idea for this Shawl came when I received my 10K Club pre-sale email from Eat Sleep Knit (if you don’t know what I am talking about GO, run check them out and their Yarnathon you’ll thank me later) for Emma’s Yarn. I instantly wanted to create a design that was clean and just an good solid project. Sometimes we want the frill and the extra, but sometimes you just need an honest knit. Clean edges, clean lines, no fuss blocking was my basis.
This pattern is extremely easy to memorize and follow, should you lose your place. Emma’s Yarns had SO many wonderful variegates that had solids that could be easily pulled out from them. So, my brainchild was to pick a variegated, and then two solids out of it. Way easier said than done! A few hours later I did pick. As soon as my yarn came in the mail it was quickly wound and on my needles. The whole project was a pleasure from conception to finish. I really hope you enjoy her as much as I have! Happy Knitting =)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Pre-Block- 60” x 14”
Blocked- 65” x 20”
-I did not aggressively block this piece, if you would like it larger you could very easily get 4-5 more inches out of each side.
MATERIALS:
Pick your favorite variegated skein, and then pull two solids out of the colors in it. Below is how much I used of each color.
Emma’s Practically Perfect Sock (which is a nice bouncy two ply)
Color A- Wish You Were Beer approx. 97gr
Color B- No Place Like Home approx. 97gr
Color C- Aloha approx. 95gr
Size US 6 Needles, one Circular or two straights.
Optional Blocking Materials, or additional colors. You could also pick one color out of the variegated skein and use two whole skeins of that color (Color A and C). Minis or leftovers would also be great too.
