Spring is making its way to the Southern Hemisphere, which means that flowers will be blooming and bees will be buzzing.

My Honey Bee Socks pattern is an easy colorwork sock design.

It features:

  • a twisted rib cuff
  • contrast cuff, heel and toe
  • some colorwork on the leg
  • the option to do a plain stockinette foot or a stripe pattern
  • the option to use 2 colors or 4

This design is a cuff down construction.

I used Big Fox Perfect Sock Yarn in colors:

  • Yellow Ochre & Pitch for the 2 color option
  • Natural, Alcyone (Pink), Hey Kelly (Green) & Yellow Ochre for the 4 color option

Perfect sock yarn is a 75% Merino 25% Nylon base, fingering weight - 100g skein (400 yards / 366 m)

Yarn Usage:
For size medium in the 2 colorway option I used:

  • 57 g (210 m) for the main color
  • 45 g (165 m) for the contrast color

Needles: Always check your tension

Size 2.25 mm for the cuff, heel, gusset, foot and toe.

I have a tight tension so I used a 2.75 mm for the stranded colorwork on the leg.

Both sizes were 32” fixed circulars for Magic Loop.

Although this pattern is written for Magic Loop, if you are used to knitting socks, you may use DPNS or 9” circulars.

Notions:

  • Tapestry Needle for Kitchener stitch and weaving in ends
  • Stitch markers

Your Pattern Download includes:
