Honey Bonnet
Honey Bonnet.
First, the ruffle is worked (wide or narrow). If you’re working on an option without the ruffle, the bonnet band is worked in 1 x 1 ribbing. Next, the main and the occipital part of the bonnet. The ties in garter st or in i-cord are worked last.
Yarn: cotton, merino wool or blends with a yardage of approx. 120 m/50 g (131 yds/1.75 oz).
Recommended yarn: Naco Calico, Drops cotton merino, Schachenmayr merino extrafine, Laines du nord Baby soft.
Totals used: 30 (40) 50 (50) 60 g ((1 (1.4) 1.7 (1.7) 2.1 oz) of the main color, approx. 5-10 g (0.1- 03 oz) of the additional color.
Needles: circular needles 3.5 mm (US4) with cable length 40 cm (16 in); double pointed needles 4 mm (US6).
Notions: 3 mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, markers, scissors.
Gauge: make a gauge swatch and count your stitches after washing and blocking. It might be necessary to change needle size to achieve a matching gauge. If you knit tighter (have more stitches), use thicker needles, if you knit more loosely (have fewer stitches), use thinner
needles.
Approx. 22 sts and 44 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 in) in pattern on 4 mm (US6) needles (after washing and blocking).
