Honey Cream Socks
Spread on a plate to offer and share,
a comforting break from the world and it’s cares.
Dunked in your tea - more soft and more sweet,
or two in a stack - crunch and repeat.
A honey cream or two or three,
maybe less for the guests and more for me.
Eat each one whole, or nibble the edge,
a treat from the pantries of Brambly Hedge.
The Honey Socks feature a pretty patterned rib, inspired by the stacks of honey cream biscuits and other treats being prepared for a feast in Brambly Hedge in the wonderful books by Jill Barklem. With a short pattern repeat these socks are easy to commit to memory while still having enough interest to make the knitting fun. They are knitted cuff down and finished with an eye of partridge heel flap and a rounded wedge toe.
