Say, is there beauty yet to find?
And Certainty? and Quiet kind?
Deep meadows yet, for to forget
The lies, and truths, and pain? …oh! yet
Stands the Church clock at ten to three
And is there honey still for tea?

—from the poem: The Old Vicarage, Grantchester
by Rupert Brooke

For these socks--inspired by poetry--an allover decorative stitch pattern composed of simple knit and purl stitches creates a stripe/pinstripe motif. This design is unisex and flattering for everyone. Pattern has several sizes to choose from: Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Instructions are for knitting cuff down in Magic Loop method, but easily adaptable for those preferring to knit using DPNS. A fine Slip Stitch Heel and Wedge Toe directions are given, but feel free to use your favorite heel or toe constructions. This sock project is for knitters of all levels, and the decorative motif is easy to memorize and very enjoyable to knit. Use your favorite 4 ply/fingering weight sock yarn. Solid or tonal/semi-solid color yarns are ideal for this design.
