Honey Scarf
This beautiful triangular scarf has eye-catching lace detail and colourful stripes inspired by delicious honey and honeycomb.
This scarf is knitted flat with two contrasting colours of yarn and 3.5mm (4US) needles. It starts from a corner and has gradual increases along the hypotenuse to create the triangular shape. After the setup cast on corner there is a small honeycomb lace section in the main colour followed by two stripes that transition to the large honeycomb lace section worked in the contrast colour. The same stripes are worked between the next small honeycomb lace section and the following large honeycomb lace. The final edge of the scarf is worked in moss (seed stitch) before casting off. The side edges have a narrow two stitch garter edge to keep the side edges flat.
The pattern includes a chart for each of the two lace charts (small honeycomb and large honeycomb lace).
The blocked measurements of the scarf are hypotenuse 57.5” (146cm) and width 28” (71cm).
The scarf is knit with Knitpicks Wool of the Andes sport weight yarn, (100% Peruvian Highland wool), 50 grams/137 yards (sport weight) in:
- 2 balls (274 yards) of Tumeric (MC)
- 3 balls (411 yards) of Dove Heather (CC)
There are endless potential great colour combinations in this lovely yarn!
Hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy knitting!
