This is a pdf knitting pattern, written in ENGLISH, using standard US terminology, for you to knit a DK weight, Honeycomb Bonnet photo prop in sizes preemie to one year plus 18” doll.

The Honeycomb Bonnet is a fabulous photo prop for your baby photography sessions and its texture with the open, lacey weave photographs beautifully. I’ve included instructions for you to knit the i-cord ties, too! Please, use this hat in your photo sessions with supervision.

It’s also a fun addition to your doll’s wardrobe or to knit as a gift for your grandchild’s or child’s favourite 18” doll (such as American Girl, Our Generation, Journey Girl dolls). Lily B’s is not affiliated in any way with any of the above mentioned doll brands. But, as I have all of these dolls in my own personal collection I love knitting items for them.

SIZES: Preemie, Newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 18” Doll

This pattern is well-suited to an intermediate beginner knitter. Knit flat, then seamed.

It requires DK weight yarn on 4mm (US6) needles. You will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, purl, yarn over, and knit two stitches together.

MY GAUGE: 22 sts + 28 rows = 10x10 cms / 4”X4”
