Honeycomb Conjecture Blanket
The Honeycomb Conjecture Collection includes a cowl, scarf, blanket and wrap.
Hexagons within and surrounded by hexagons! The Honeycomb Conjecture Blanket has hexagons galore!
This blanket starts in the centre with a little single coloured hexagon, and grows outwards working the honeycomb motif in six triangular sections. When you get to the size you want, frame it with icord to highlight the big hexagon you’ve created.
I envisioned this as a baby blanket because I love the idea of nestling baby in honeycombs that evoke feelings of home, protection & community. This reversible blanket has worsted weight cables popping off both sides of the garter stitch fabric -- it is the squishiest thing I have ever made (nothing but the best for the littlest one).
One of my main requirements in choosing yarn for a blanket is machine washability. Sweet Georgia Yarns Superwash Worsted is easy care & its very round yarn construction creates the best cable definition. Please read this blog post by Felicia Lo of Sweet Georgia.
Learn Modified Fusion Knitting with this blanket. Because you are working from center out, you can practice all the stitches on a small circumference!
