A wonderfully easy beginner pattern, the Honeycomb Love Bun Hat is a quick, chunky knit that consists of knit and purl stitches knit in the round. If you know how to do those skills, this knit will be simple.

As a messy bun hat/ponytail beanie, this hat may be finished as a closed top as well. It is adorable topped with a pompom or left as is. While the original pattern is written for an adult size, child/toddler adjustments are included in the notes. Super bulky yarn or 3 strands of worsted may be used for this knit. US 13/9 mm 16” circular or double pointed needles are needed, and knowledge of circular knitting, basic knit and purl stitches, decreasing and binding off are the skills required for this knit.
