Honeycomb sweater
This sweater is worked from the top down in the «Honeycomb» pattern. First, work the back yoke in back-and-forth rows with increases on both sides, then, the back piece.
Next, pick up stitches for the shoulders of the front on both sides of the yoke (worked separately), join them together to form the front piece.
The back and front pieces are joined together in the bottom part of the armholes, the body is worked in the round. Next, pick up stitches along the neckline and work the neckband in 1 × 1 ribbing.
Pick up stitches for the sleeves along the armholes, which are first worked in short rows (cap sleeve), then in the round.
According to this pattern, you can also make a vest with or without the ruffles.

Needles: 3.5 mm (US4) and 4 mm (US6) circular needles with a cable length of 40 cm (16 in) and 60 cm (24 in); 3.5 mm (US4) and 4 mm (US6) double pointed needles for the sleeves (if not using the Magic Loop method); short needle for the «Honeycomb» pattern.
Notions: 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook, stitch markers, about 1 yard of waste yarn in a contrasting color.
Before starting, be sure to make and wash the sample. Adjust the size of the needles if it’s needed to achieve the correct gauge.
Gauge of the main pattern after washing and blocking 28 sts × 34 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 in × 4 in) on 4 mm (US6) needles.
