Honeycomb Tea Cozy
Honey and tea go so well together. When I had a bit of yarn leftover from my Honeybee socks, I decided that I needed to make a little something else to go with them. What better pairing than a tea cozy in the honeycomb pattern to match your socks? Put on a cuppa and enjoy your cozy socks with a nice warm pot of tea.
This pattern is meant for a novice to advanced knitter. Please read the entire pattern before beginning.
Yarn: 1 skein Broken Pattern Bamboo Sock, 430 yards, 60% Merino, 30% Bamboo, 10% Nylon (~90 yards needed for the pattern/ 24 grams)
Needle: US 1 (2.25 mm) Hiya Hiya Circular needle or needles to obtain gauge
Gauge: 7.25 stitches per inch (spi) and 9 rows per inch (rpi) OR 29 stitches & 36 rows to 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette
Size: 6.5 inches tall, 11 inches around in a relaxed state. Approximately 15 inches around when stretched onto the teapot.
To alter the size: Adjust your gauge to increase or decrease the tea cozy as needed or add repeats of the honeycomb pattern.
