Honeydrop Scarf
A fantastic alternative use for hand-dyed sock yarns! This pattern calls for a heavy fingering - sport weight yarn and the lace pattern really shows it off. Works well with semi-solid and variegated yarns (the gentle zig-zag pattern breaks up variegated colorways really well). Perfect for spring and air-conditioned offices in the summer, it is also a good winter scarf when wrapped around your neck several times. The pattern is for a 8” width and a 77” length, but you could easily make it longer, shorter or wider to your preference. I used 1 skein of our SeaWool yarn to make the sample (375 yards of light sport weight).
Pattern includes instructions on adding more lace repeats if you would like a wider scarf or stole. Feel free to sell your creations from this pattern on etsy and anywhere else.
This pattern is for the adventurous beginner or intermediate knitter and uses yo, ssk, k2tog, etc. The lace pattern is an easily memorized 4 row repeat. This is a great way to start lace knitting. Recommended needle size for pictured scarf is US 7.
