The Honning Socks are cute stretchy socks inspired by the magnificent pattern of Anna Sudo, the Apis Dorsata! I’ve had the idea for these socks while roaming the streets of Bergen, Norway, this is why they are called Honning, honey in Norwegian.

The Honning Socks are knitted from toe to cuff with design along the entire length of the socks. The slipped-stitch element on stockinette with garter stitch inserts creates interesting variations that echo the disorderly order of the honeycomb hive cells.

You can add a thread of mohair to the areas most likely to wear out quickly: the toe and heel. The heel is worked in German short row to have a nice rounded shape with no hole!

The pattern includes instructions for six different sizes.
US women’s shoe size equivalence: 5/6 (7/8, 9, 10, 11, 12)

The sample is shown in Tree Wool from Fleece Artist in the colour Gold. I have added a thread of the Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair in the colour Dark Mustard to the areas most likely to wear out quickly - the toe and heel.

Circular needle or DPNs, US #1.5 (2.5 mm) or the size needed to obtain the gauge.

Gauge
30 stitches x 42 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in stockinette knit in the round, after blocking.

Les Honning Socks sont de jolies chaussettes extensibles inspirées du magnifique patron d’Anna Sudo, l’Apis Dorsata! J’ai eu l’idée de ces chaussettes en parcourant les rues de Bergen, en Norvège, c’est pourquoi elles s’appellent Honning, miel en norvégien.

Les Honning Socks sont tricotées de la pointe au rebord avec un design sur toute la longueur des chaussettes. L’élément de point glissé sur un jersey avec des insertions de point mousse crée des variations intéressantes qui rappellent l’ordre désordonné des alvéoles des ruches d’abeille.

Vous pouvez ajouter un fil de mohair aux zones les plus susceptibles de s’user rapidement: la pointe et le talon. Le talon est travaillé en rangs raccourcis (German short rows) pour avoir une belle forme arrondie sans aucun trous!
