Although the hood instructions are written for a stitch pattern, it’s simple to substitute stockinette for a simple, quick knit.

Place lifeline in the last round of ribbing.
Knit to desired length, working raglan increases on every other round 4x, then every 3rd round until desired size is reached 4 (6) 8 (10) 12 times. Break yarn, leaving enough to bind off edge; about 3x the circumference.
