This hooded dragon blanket gives a new name to crochet. You really can’t make a cooler gift than this!  Hooded blankets are super popular right now and this dragon blanket is a must do! We also have the option to make it into a girl dragon using pink yarn. The pattern includes instructions to make this hooded dragon blanket in either chunky yarn or worsted weight yarn. It is very detailed and there are pictures throughout to make things easy to understand.  Above all, with these detailed instructions, even those with little crochet experience can find success creating their own masterpiece!

HOODED DRAGON BLANKET PATTERN DETAILS:
-Sizes (not including hood & wings!): Small Child (32”x36”), Large Child (42”x45”) & Teen/Adult (48”x54”)

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
-Hooks: You will need a 5 mm (H), 5.5 mm (I), 6 mm (J), 6.5 mm (K) and if you make the chunky blanket you will need a 8 mm (L) hook IF YOUR GAUGE MATCHES MINE!
-Yarn: You are welcome to use any brand of yarn, but it’s helpful to check your gauge before beginning if you don’t want your blanket and hood to turn out overly large (or small!). For a tip on how to save time when checking your gauge, check out my blog post entitled “Becoming a Master Gauge Checker: It’s a stinky job, but somebody’s gotta do it…”

• FOR CHUNKY: Deborah Norville- Serenity Chunky Heathers- For the main color you will need 981 yards for the small, 1199 yards for the medium and 1744 yards for the large size.  For the accent color you will need 400 yards for the small, 475 yards for the medium, and 650 yards for the large.
• FOR WORSTED WEIGHT: Caron One Pound Yarn in Dark Pink- For the main color you will need 1170 yards for small, 1775 yards for medium & 2436 yards for large. For the accent color you will need 450 yards for the small, 575 yards for the medium, and 750 yards for the large.
• FOR BOTH VERSIONS: Caron Simply Soft Yarn-You will need small amounts of black, white, and eye color.

-Polyester Stuffing (very small amount) & tapestry needle with large eye
-Pins are optional for placing pieces before sewing (I highly recommend this!)
