Hooded Jacket
This medium length jacket will fit most 18” dolls.
It was created with a seamless and intentionally over-sized hood that easily fits any doll’s big hair.
The jacket is worked in top-down method and is appropriate for intermediate beginner knitter.
The pattern uses about 2.5 oz of ordinary worsted weight or similar yarn for body and trim yarn such as Boa (less than 1/2 skein), Pipsqueak, Fun Fur, Boucle and similar.
Update March 5, 2017
There is an updated version of this oldie but goody my over-sized hooded jacket.
Several people who knitted this jacket expressed their feeling that the size of the hood was way too big.
I initially created it to have a super large hood because I wanted it to fit nicely over the dolls’ long hair AND drape like a hood of the cape. But I decided why not do a slightly smaller version.
And I did. And I like it. See “pink” photos.
It is still big and still fits all the long hair of the doll. It does not drape softly like a “cape” hood, but stays on rather nicely without falling off (the boa yarn is pretty slippery).
I am updating my original pattern to include both versions. Everyone who has purchased will receive notification to download an update.
