Hooded Poncho Mexicana is crafted using a patchwork technique, where square motifs are joined together to create a seamless, flowing garment. Depending on the size, the poncho consists of either 6 (S/M) or 8 (L/XL) motifs, ensuring a perfect fit and beautiful drape. The addition of a hood enhances its comfort and practicality, making it a stylish yet functional piece for the colder seasons.

DESIGN
This poncho consists of 6 or 8 large square motifs, which depends on the size. Two motifs make up the hood, and the rest are for the front and back panels. It is decorated with fringe and a tassel on top of the hood. The yarn used for the blue and white poncho is a selection of 4 colors, while the grey and orange one used up 5 colors.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL, SKILLS, TECHNIQUES
Making this poncho requires lower-intermediate crocheting skills and being familiar with round crochet. I would certainly encourage experienced beginners to give this project a try and improve their crocheting skills. Stitches used in this pattern are chain, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.

YARN
Total amount of yarn used for size S/M is 420 gr, whereas for size L/XL you will need about 500 gr.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PATTERN
The pattern is written in US terminology. The repeats are given in parentheses and the number of repeats right after them. The Diagram you can see on page 6 is for one square motif, worked in the rounds. One square motif has 12 rounds, and for the
entire poncho you will need 6 or 8 motifs, depending on your chosen size.
