-Hooks: You will need a 5.5 mm (I) hook. For the worsted weight blanket you will need a 6 mm (J) hook. For the super bulky blanket you will need a 9 mm (M) hook IF YOUR GAUGE MATCHES MINE!
-Yarn: You are welcome to use any brand of yarn as long as you check your gauge before beginning. For a tip on how to save time when checking your gauge, check out my blog post entitled “Becoming a Master Gauge Checker: It’s a stinky job, but somebody’s gotta do it…”
- FOR SUPER BULKY BLANKET I used Hometown USA (or any category 6 yarn). For main color you will need 1296 yards for small, 1863 yards for medium & 2754 yards for large. For the accent color you will need 100 yards for small, 150 yards for medium, & 200 yards for large. Accent color only needed if you choose to add extra color to your border like I did.
- FOR WORSTED WEIGHT BLANKET I used Red Heart With Love (or any category 4 yarn). For main color you will need 1650 yards for small, 2400 yards for medium & 3700 yards for large. For the accent color you will need 125 yards for small, 200 yards for medium & 275 yards for large. Accent color only needed if you add the extra color to you border like I did.
- BOTH BLANKETS Red Heart Soft Yarn (or any THIN worsted weight/category 4 yarn). You will need small amounts of white for all sizes. Bernat Pipsqueak Yarn (or similar furry yarn). You will need 175 yards for small, 210 yards for medium & 240 yards for large. Red Heart With Love Metallic (or any category 4). You will need small amounts of Light Grey (only needed if you opt to make the tiara).
-48- 6 mm round faux pearls (with holes through the center to be threaded). This is an optional addition to the tiara.
-Hook clasps (optional, if you don’t buy them, you would just have to tie you cape ends rather than easily clasping them closed).
-Polyester stuffing (Fiberfil)- small amounts.
-Sewing needle with large eye
-Pins are optional for placing pieces before sewing (I highly recommend this!)
