This hood features cute rat (or mouse) ears -- a pun on “hooded rats,” or fancy rats with hood-like markings on their head and shoulders. As a rat lover, I couldn’t resist.

It’s a pretty simple project -- nothing too fancy going on here. You could work it all in one colour or use a contrasting colour for the ribbed edging. You could add a button onto the flaps so it fastens shut under your chin.

The possibilities are endless here -- you could even try working it so it looks like your own rat. What I’d really love to see is pictures of people wearing their hoods with their ratties! <3
