This is a top down raglan hoodie for a baby or toddler. It starts at the top of the hood with a turkish cast on. Knit back and forth the hood edge and button band are picked up after the desired length is attained. The sleeves are placed on holders and knit down to the cuff.
You will need to do a gauge swatch and figure your math for the yarn and needles you are using. I knit this is Lion Brand Cotton Ease on a size 6 (US) needle; my gauge is 5 spi.
My finished measurement is:
chest = 24 inches; back length = 11 inches; armhole depth = 5 inches; sleeves at underarm = 8 inches; across shoulders = 10 inches

Someone asked me if the increases after the sleeves are divided should be done on both the knit and purl rows. The answer is that adding increases on the knit side only is the best way to do KFB increases, but you may want more width than right side only increases can give you, so you may want to use an increase that is less visible, such as a M1L or M1R.

This is a free pattern/recipe and I’m assuming that you have some knowledge of knitting..
