Hoodlet was the very first original knit design I ever created and posted on my blog in 2007. I didn’t know much about what it meant to be a designer and to create patterns. I just wanted to share my love of unique and personal designs with the world. Now more than a decade later, I have revised my first pattern to be easier to follow to create a beautiful hooded scarf or wrap with optional pockets. Hoodlet will always hold a special place in my heart as the design that started me on the path to sharing my love of yarn and my passion for creativity and comfort through handmade.

The name “Hoodlet” is a mix between “hood” and “capelet.” Hoodlet is worked in two rectangular pieces that are seamed together, making it a great project for beginners. Use a chunky yarn that is self-striping for a fun pop of color on cold days, or stick with a cozy neutral for a subtle statement piece while battling the cold. Choose between a narrower scarf or a wider wrap. Add two oversized pockets for added warmth for your hands.
