The toy is quite complicated, but it is interesting to crochet and you will enjoy it when you can put on your hoopoe on a branch.

The size of the toy using these materials:

• the height from feet to crest - 33 cm (about 13”).
• body height - 18 cm (about 7”).
• length from bill to tail - 37 cm (about 14.5”).
• body length - 15 cm (about 6”).

The head and body are crocheted as one piece. The bill is crocheted into the head. All other pieces are sewn on. The feet are with wire frame. The bird can stand on its own.
Difficulty level - hard.

You need for work:
1. Yarn. Sport weight/4 ply yarn Yarnart Jeans (50g/160m, cotton 55%, acrylic 45%):

• teracotta #85 (main – more than 1 skein);
• black #53 (wings, bill, tail, feathers – 1/2 a skein);
• white #62 (wings, tail, feathers – 1/3 a skein);
• beige #48 (feet – a little).

1. Hook. Hook size 1,6 mm.
2. Polyester toy filling
3. Eyes. Safety eyes size 12 мм.
4. Wire. For feet: 2 pieces 15 cm long with a diameter of 3 mm; 8 pieces 15 cm long with a diameter of ca. 1 mm (thin wire for claws).
