Introducing my friends Owlexander Hoomilton, Owleanor Hoosevelt, and Owlbert Camus! I hope you like them. They’re a hoot!
This user-friendly pattern has been test-knitted several times and includes detailed instructions, tips, and photos to help guide you through the construction, assembly, and finishing.
It is designed to be used with any yarn, on needles roughly 3-4 sizes smaller than those typically recommended for the weight of the yarn. The prototypes were knit in Red Heart Boutique Treasure, which is a heavy worsted/Aran weight yarn, took roughly 52 yards, and came out to about 5” tall. Results will definitely vary.
All knitted components (body, wings, and feet) are worked in the round. The pattern is written for dpns because the components are all three-sided, but could be modified for magic loop with the addition of stitch markers to mark the ends of the “needles.” The face is embroidered after assembly is complete.
Skills needed: Knit, purl, make one increases, knit two together, slip slip knit, Kitchener stitch.
