Description:
Want to wear a blanket with pockets in public? The Hope Shawl makes that socially acceptable! This pocket shawl is great for a late summer through fall, even something you can wear in the spring. My first version of this design used super bulky yarn, making it a quicker knit, but also very heavy and obviously…bulky. I decided to translate my best selling pattern into a lighter version, which takes longer with the smaller yarn, but I am absolutely in love with the result! I hope you love it as much as I do.

Skills:

• Adventurous beginner knitters: The body of the shawl is a very mindless knit, but attaching the pockets might be a new skill for you to learn. But don’t worry - I include step by step tutorials for visual learners.
• Pattern assume knitter knows knit and purl stitches

Size:

• 19 in wide x 66 in long / 48 cm wide x 168 cm long
• Your dimensions may change, since this is based off of wearers height/arm length or “wing span”

Materials:

• This pattern includes instructions for a variety of size 5 yarns - which have a huge range in sizes. I am not listing the yarn/yardage or needle size required. So pick your favorite size 5/bulky yarn, and the pattern will point you in the right direction. Pattern includes a chart for yarn/needles/gauge/yardage/WPI, so this design is sort of a “pick your own adventure” style. Testing your gauge will be crucial!
• Designer’s Sample used Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Chunky in the color Linen.
