The lush texture on this easy-knit bobble hat is simple to knit! This beautiful texture is a repeat pattern of simple knit and purl stitches, known as Double Moss Stitch (US Double Seed Stitch).
This easy knitting pattern is perfect for new knitters… and the repetition of this stitch pattern makes this a relaxing meditative project for experienced knitters too!

Choose a contrast colour or a stick with a same colour pom pom to top your hat. Both look great!

The hats shown here have been knitted in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. Choose this yarn or any other aran (US Worsted) weight yarn that recommends 5mm (US8) needles.

To achieve a neat defined Double Moss / Double Seed stitch tension in your aran/worsted yarn this hat is worked with needles that are one size down from the recommended size. You will therefore be using 4.5mm (US7) needles for the main hat.

1 pair of 4 ½ mm (US7) single pointed needles / or 5 X 4 ½mm (US7) dpns
