Hope Springs Fingerless Mitts
Designed to compliment my Hope Springs Hat and Cowl, these fingerless mitts can be made in two lengths.
The shorter length will leave your fingers free which I found perfect for typing when the office was really cold!
The slightly longer length just leaves the top of your fingers free.
Although there is only one width, you can adjust the size by changing your needle size.
Depending on your tension, they will fit a 7.5 - 8 inch hand - I lightly felted mine to help keep the wind out.
It features a ‘Selbu’ style thumb, with the gusset stitches put on hold by being knitted with waste yarn, then picked up again later.
You will need to be familiar with stranded knitting and working in the round.
Materials
For the coloured pair, I used Jamieson & Smith Supreme for the background (approx25g), and Shetland Spindrift for the contrast colours.
You will only need small amounts of the contrast colours - approx. 6g of each blue shade, and 3g of each green.
The two tone pair were made with Drops Alpaca.
The full mittens are also available as a separate pattern, available here -

Or put both patterns in your basket for a discounted price of £5 - no code needed. (Don’t put anything else in your basket at the same time though, as Ravelry only allows one promotion at a time.)
Happy Knitting!
