Depending on the size you choose to follow, this hat can be a standard fitting beanie or a slouch style hat. To achieve something close fitting you’ll want to select a finished size that’s a few inches smaller than your head circumference. However, don’t go too small with this one because, while the ribbing posses a good deal of stretch, the traveling cable prevents surrounding stitches from expanding to their full potential. This effect is also part of what makes the hat work for you as a slouch style in the larger sizes. The cable will hold the hat close to your head in the front (where the cable stitches are closest to the crown) and let the reverse stockinette portion fall toward your neck in the back.
