This project bag is just the right size for a few balls of yarn and some knitting needles. The pattern was inspired by a piece of barkcloth fabric from the 1950s.

This pattern is an easy introduction to stranded colourwork, with the maximum of two colours in a row. Any wooden, plastic or resin bag handles can be used - you can customise the bag as you fancy.

Details:

Finished size: The main body of the bag is approximately 40 cm wide by 27 cm tall.

Yarn: 5 x 50g balls of Knitpicks Palette Fingering/4 ply weight. We used two balls of Grass (A) and one ball each of Spearmint (B), Sweet Potato (C) and Turmeric (D).

Extras: A pair of wooden, resin or plastic bag handles, between 13 and 20 cm wide.

Lining fabric, approximately 60cm x 44 cm.
