Horn Hat
The Horn Hat, very unique in design, must be worn with attitude.
The Horn Hat is knitted with a single strand of bulky yarn using short rows for shaping on a large circular needle, working from the lower edge toward the center of the crown where one must change to double-pointed needles, and finishing the last few stitches by securing with a yarn needle.
Double decreasing gives the Horn Hat a sturdy yet stylish shape over the crown. The overall shape is an exercise in embellishment-- so different from the usual!
Must be able to cast on, knit circularly, purl, work short rows and double-decreases according to directions, use double-pointed needles and finish with a yarn needle. Fulling and blocking instructions are available on my website here.
Embroidered French knots and random swirls of needlefelting embellish the model. Use the photo for reference.
