This is a basic pattern for the bonnet and beanie, made to measurements for a horse, pony, and mini. Rectangular, round, and point variations of finishes are described. Instructions for alterations at the end of the pattern.
Pattern for ears is not included. This allows for it to fit donkeys and mules as well as horses.

Colorwork and holiday patterns are not included, but can be done. I use this pattern as the base of all of the holiday bonnets, beanies, and Top Gun: Maverick helmets featured on my Etsy shop and Instagram account @razorback_tack.
