This pattern is written in English only. The PDF file contains full instructions for knitting and finishing off a horse, donkey and unicorn with a choice of 2 sweaters and a pair of shorts. Finished size:
approx. 23cm (9 inches) from the tip of the toes to the top of the head.
The file is 23 pages long and contains over 60 detailed step-by-step photographs along with full pattern instructions and tips for stuffing, seaming and finishing neatly.
Included are instructions to make 2 sweaters, one with a triangular colour-work design and the other knitted in a single colour with a textured design.
All pieces of the horse are knitted flat with worsted weight yarn on 3mm needles and are seamed afterwards.
Clothing is knitted from 4ply/fingering weight yarn on 2.75mm needles. The sweater is knitted flat in separate pieces up to the armholes and then knitted across all pieces from the armholes to the neck, and seamed afterwards. The shorts are worked flat and then seamed.
What you will need:
Materials:
• Worsted or light Aran yarn (approx 75m/82yds) in brown, cream, black or grey: Yarn A
• Worsted or light Aran yarn (approx 10m/11yd) in cream, light grey: Yarn B
• Yarn of your choice for the mane and tail (see Page 3 for suggestions), Yarn C (up to 18m/20yds)
• 4ply/fingering weight yarn for the sweater and shorts in up to 3 colours, Yarn D, Yarn E, Yarn F
• Less than 1m (1yds) of black, brown /grey 4ply/DK yarn for the eyes and facial features
• Toy stuffing
Notions:
• Knitting needles: A pair each of 3mm and 2.75mm
• Tapestry needle
