Keep a toy horse warm with one of these pretty rugs. They will fit the Snoo’s Knits horse pattern or an old-style My Little Pony. For larger horses, try knitting with chunkier wool to produce a bigger rug.

Stitches used: kfb, k2tog, p2tog

You will need:

• Wool, 20g of each colour. I used Double Knit (8-6 ply, “light worsted”.) Tension square: 10cm x 10cm square is 24 stitches across and 32 rows.
• Knitting needles – I used UK size 11 (3.0mm, US size 2.5)
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch-holder / spare needle
• Fastening such as a popper (press stud, snap fastener), hook-and-eye closure or small button
• Ordinary needle and thread to attach your fastening
• Optional: small decoration for plain rug
