Horseshoes
Horseshoes is a great opportunity to be bold and try something new! The cables are repetitive and easy to memorize which makes this headband great for all levels of knitters.
Pattern is fully charted with written instructions included and has been both tested and Tech Edited.
Pattern Specs
Difficulty: Advanced Beginner
Size: 4” wide and 17” in circumference (10cm wide and 43cm in circumference)
Model’s head circumference in cover photo is 21.5” around
This is 4.5” of negative ease, which is a lot but I am a loose knitter and the yarn I used in the pattern is very stretchy. If substituting yarn with less stretch you can lengthen the headband by adding more repeats of the cable pattern.
Yarn Requirements: 90 yards (83 meters) of bulky weight yarn
Yarn used in Pattern: 1 skein of Madeline Tosh Tosh Chunky - bulky weight 2 ply superwash Merino wool 165 yards (151 meters) per skein
Needles and Notions: US 8 (5.0mm) needles or whatever size you need to obtain gauge, tapestry needle, pins for blocking
Gauge: 20 stitches over 4” (10cm) and 18 rows (3 repeats of the horseshoe cable pattern) over 3.75” (9.5cm) after wet blocking.
