In early spring, hosta shoots poke up through the earth, first emerging as tight, greyish scrolls and then the leaves unfurl and fill the garden with swirls of cream and chartreuse.

The Hosta Wrap echoes these scrolls and swirls, creating a bold yet airy fabric. Use neutrals with a pop, variegated or hand dyed to accent the stripes.

The finished measurements, after blocking, are a width of 25.5” and a length of 64.25”. The size is easily adjustable by adding or subtracting horizontal or vertical repeats. Alterations in the number of repeats will change the amount of yarn used and the size of the finished wrap.

The sample shown was wet blocked using blocking wires.

You will need:

  • 530 yards of Color A
  • 400 yards of Color B
  • 100 yards of Color C
  • US size 7 (4.5mm) needles
  • Blocking wires (optional but recommended)
  • Yarn needle

The sample shown is worked in Merino Superwash Sock Twist by Cloudborn Fibers, Oatmeal Heather (Color A); Superwash Merino Sock Splash by Cloudborn Fibers, Grey River (Color B); and Highland Superwash Sock Twist by Cloudborn Fibers, Citrus Green (Color C).

The directions for the lace are both written and charted.
