Hot Chili Pepper
This is a quick and easy pattern for a spicy red chili pepper (or jalapeño version). The project is beginner-friendly and takes just about an hour to finish. Basic knitting technique, with increases, decreases, short rows, and simple intarsia, is required. The pattern is written for knitting flat, but can easily convert to knitting in the round. The finished pepper measures 4.5” in length.
NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm knitting needles
Embroidery needle
MATERIALS:
4 g Red (or Green) Worsted or Aran Wt. Yarn
1 g Green Worsted or Aran Wt. Yarn
Poly-fill or Red Yarn (shredded) for stuffing
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn is heavier than recommended for your chosen needles.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, and seaming. One of the rows calls for wrapping and turning. Intarsia color work is required for a single row.
