Hot Christmas
Hot Christmas will be HALF PRICE (just $3!) until Monday, December 4th at 11:59 pm, EST, no coupon code required
Most of my life, I have lived in New York, where Christmas is cold, usually snowy, lights twinkle on all the pine trees, and everyone is bundled up in sweaters, hats, and mittens.
The last two years, I have wintered in sunny Florida, where the Christmas spirit is just as strong, but everyone is cheerily in shorts and tees, and the lights twinkle just as brightly on palm trees.
So what is a knitter to do, celebrating the “winter” holidays on the beach? We certainly won’t have a White Christmas, and there will be no dashing through the snow, or walking in a Winter Wonderland. It occurred to me that a huge part of the population experiences a hot Christmas, and there must be knitters in this same quandary as me.
Hot Christmas is a lightweight Christmas sweater, celebrating the lovely shape of snowflakes to add to the holiday spirit.
This sweater is knit bottom-up, in-the-round, until the armhole split. It is then knit back and forth, and the shoulder seams are created with a three-needle bind-off.
Finished size dimensions (bust and hips): 30 (33, 36.5, 40, 46.5, 50)“/ 76 (84.5, 93, 101.5, 110, 118.5, 127)cm. I recommend choosing a size that will give you 1-2” of positive ease (for example, knit the 36.5” if you have a 35” bust).
Yarn requirements:
Color 1:380 (390, 400, 440, 500, 580, 670) yards/ 350 (355, 365, 400, 460, 530, 615)m
Color 2: 420 (430, 450, 515, 595, 650, 720)yards /385 (395, 410, 470, 545, 595, 660)m
