Ready to take your crochet skills to the next level and learn some new techniques? This hat has it! - short rows, slip stitches, shaping, and sideways construction - they’re all utilized in this hat pattern!

This chunky and textured hat features a modern and fun alternating mini bean stitch pattern, wide brim, and a decrease at the crown. The hat is worked flat, in rows, and sideways along the length of the hat. A brim is created on one end of the rows, the body of the hat is worked in the middle section, and shaping at the crown is worked on the other end. The hat is made using a chunky weight yarn, which means that it’ll be cozy & warm and will work up super fast, too!

MATERIALS

• 6.5 mm crochet hook
• Approximately 105-115 yards of chunky (#5) weight yarn (Knit Picks Brava Bulky yarn used)
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle
• Stitch Marker (recommended)

FINISHED SIZE

• Approximately 9.5” tall x 7.5” wide (seamed and laid flat) but size can be easily modified.

• Brim, body, crown shaping, and circumference of hat can all be adjusted. Instructions on these modifications are included in the Pattern Notes.

SKILL LEVEL

• Intermediate Skill Level due to construction techniques used.
• Knowledge of pattern reading, basic crochet stitches, working in back loops, and basic sewing skills are also recommended.
