The Hotdish Beanie and Headband can use two to four different colors, it is a quick knit with color accents done in mosaic knitting. Both projects are an excellent way to experiment with color combinations and use up scrap yarn.

Both the beanie and the headband use a two color cast on that gives the edge an accent of color. The headband also utilizes a variation of a traditional bind off that enables the bind off to better mimic the cast on. (Hint, it is easy and there is a video link in the pattern for Back Loop Bind Off, as well as on Unraveled Handknits YouTube channel.)

Headband uses a total of 38 - 44 yards
Beanie uses a total of 70 - 78 yards

There is the option to use two, three, four, or more colors.

Pattern is a four stitch repeat and can easily be adjusted a little smaller or bigger. There is a Hotdish Bonnet pattern that works well for babies and toddlers as the style will accomodate a growing head longer than a regular beanie.

In viewing images of the headband and beanie it is easy to see how the pattern works with a variety of color palettes from mellow seasoning to extra spicy. I hope you enjoy!
