These socks were originally a part of the Sanguine Gryphon’s Spring 2011 collection celebrating Art Nouveau themes.
The Hotel Tassel is a house built in Brussels, Belgium, by Victor Horta in the 1890s. Tree-shaped pillars in its central staircase draw the eye upwards, while iron railings twist around them, echoing the lush golden-brown swirls painted on the walls and arranged into the mosaic floor. These top-down socks use twisted stitch cables to imitate some of the patterns found in the Hotel Tassel with the right and left socks appearing as mirror images of each other.
Instructions are included for the basic construction with charts for the pattern.
