A classic crochet scarf pattern with fringe.
Skills
Knowledge of basic crochet stitches, techniques and terminology is assumed. The pattern is worked in long rows, changing colour at the end of each row.
Chainless foundation stitches (foundation single and double crochet - US terms) are used to start the scarf. The rest of the pattern is worked using US single and double crochet.
Materials
The pattern uses a 4.5mm crochet hook and around 300g of sport weight yarn in 2 colours.
The item pictured used the following yarn: Approximately 300g / 990m Happy Sheep, Baby Wool from Hobbii, 100% Merino Wool, 50g ball = 165m / 180yds
Yarn A: 3 x 50g balls Black (shade 05)
Yarn B: 3 x 50g balls White (shade 02)
I used approximately 20g more of Yarn A than Yarn B. My finished scarf weighed around 275g and used approx 910m in total.
Size
This scarf is intended for use by adults only and sized as such. The finished scarf measures around 165cm long by 27cm wide, unblocked. This excludes the fringe, which adds about 8cm at either end.
The pattern is written in English using US crochet terms and is delivered via PDF download.
