Houndstooth afghan block or applique pattern. Everything is better with a little houndstooth!

Worsted weight yarn makes approximately 9’’ wide by 9’’ tall piece when oriented correctly.

The gage and yarn are not an important part, you can make whatever size houndstooth you’d like! Just make sure the hook you use is appropriate for the yarn you choose. :)

Main image layout shows my layout for an afghan. This should make a blanket approximately 5’x6’ with a small black border to finish it off. I will need to do a few partial pieces to go around the edge, which I’ll put additions to my pattern for when I get to them.
