This pattern is for a house advent calendar wall hanging, which includes a removable Santa who sits in the chimney.

The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.

You will need:
Yarn of your choice. I used dk weight yarn (equivalent to light worsted, weight 3) with a 4mm hook and my finished advent calendar measures approximately 43.5cm long and 44cm wide.

For the Santa to go inside the chimney (pages 4 - 6), you will need the following colours:

• Hat, jacket & trousers colour - I used red (approx. 9m).
• Beard, hair & trim colour - I used white (approx. 5m).
• Belt colour - I used black (approx. 1.25m).
• Skin colour - I used pink (approx. 1m).

For the windows & door (pages 7 - 8), you will need the following colours:

• Door colour - I used red (approx. 10.5m).
• Door step colour - I used cream (approx. 2m).
• Wreath colour - I used dark green (approx. 2m).
• Window colours - I used: Pink x5 windows (approx. 22.5m). Blue x5 windows (approx. 22.5m). Green x5 windows (approx. 22.5m). Gold x5 windows (approx. 22.5m). Lilac x3 windows (approx. 13.5m).
• Window edge colours - I used: White x19 window edges (approx. 68m). Dark grey x4 window edges (approx. 14m).

For the walls, roof & chimney (pages 9 - 13), you will need the following colours:

• Wall colour - I used brown (approx. 310m).
• Lintels colour (the line under the windows) - I used cream (approx. 12m).
• Roof colour - I used dark grey (approx. 93m).

Please Note The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.

You will also need:

• A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
• 6mm black safety eyes.
• A small amount of toy stuffing.
• If you wish to add the belt buckle, you will need a small amount of gold / yellow yarn or thread.
• A length of wooden dowel / cane for inserting through the top of the calendar to hang it.
• A length of string / twine / yarn to use as a hanging loop.
• The numbers can be embroidered onto the windows, or you may choose to attach wooden or felt numbers instead.
• Small amounts of embroidery thread / yarn for adding the embroidered details to decorate your house - this is optional / customisable based on personal preference (details on pages 14 - 15).
• Other tools you will need are a needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
